1 | 2 | 3 The Tectonic Pendant Lights premiered as part of the Matilda showcase of 30 of the best and newest product designers and makers from Australia at the London Design Festival (LDF) September 22-25. The showcase was part of designjunction located in the basement of Victoria House, Clerkenwell Design District.
The lights are a limited edition small-scale sculptural piece, inspired by tectonic plate movement and the equalisation and distribution of geological mass above and below sea level, highlighting the sedimentary layers that are exposed and thrust upward over the course of time. The internal light source represents the meeting point of the plates which is in a constant state of flux.
Participation was made possible with funding from Arts Queensland.
