After a client has placed an order, bamboo materials are purchased from local suppliers who source products from reputable manufacturers in the Zheijang province of China. Bamboo materials used are produced from Moso culms harvested every 5-6 years.

Material Production
The bamboo poles are first dried and bleached using hydrogen peroxide. They are then split into strips, planed, collated and glued with low VOC adhesives to form single or cross-laminated boards and veneers, creating amazing strength and visual characteristcs.

Material Options
Materials come in two lamination patterns, vertical (narrow grain) and horizontal (wide grain) as well as two colours, coffee and natural. The coffee colouration is achieved through carbonisation or high pressure steaming of the bamboo, darkening it to varrying degrees.

Furniture Production
Materials are sent from Wambamboo's supplier to a component producer in Brisbane, where parts are CNC cut. The components are then assembled, sanded and finished by hand in the Wambamboo Studio in Brisbane, ready for delivery to the client/customer.

Delivery/Assembly of Pieces
Some pieces in the range can be ordered either pre-assembled or flat-packed. From experience we’ve found that pre-assembled pieces have greater long term structural integrity than flat-packed pieces and they're ready to go for their intended new home.

Wambamboo and You
Each Wambamboo piece is an original that will enhance its surrounding environment and appreciate in sentimental and economic value. At the end of their functional life, pieces can be taken back, or if left, will biodegrade. Non-organic components are recyclable.
