The first annual Globelight Festival showcases local and international talent across lighting art and design. Curated by and involving the works of James Tapscott and Sam Mitchell-Fin, 17 artists have been chosen for the inaugural year. The Festival aims to become an important inclusion on the local and international cultural calendar, being the only festival of its kind that exhibits such a wide variety of works across both light art and design in Australia. Kent Gration's Leviathan Pendant Light was created for this festival.

The festival is working within two separate spaces: Anita Traverso Gallery in Richmond and the Abbotsford Convent, which allows the event to work with both ready-made design pieces, site-specific works and large-scale installations, exposing the full breadth of the talent that exists in the lighting industry.

Anita Traverso Gallery: 7 Albert St. Richmond (Open Wed-Sat, 11-5pm til August 24)

Abbotsford Convent: 1 Saint Heliers St. Abbotsford (Open every day, 7.30am - 10pm)
